BOOK NUMBER TWO ON THE WAY - MOTIVATION . . .

Over the last few months I have immersed myself in research of how I can up my game in terms of continuing to heal myself and stay ahead of the MS. What has really surprised me is that if you look hard enough as a patient or sufferer of anything, there is lots of fantastic information available to you. However you need to have the motivation to do this. When people say to me, where do you get the time? or why do you do this or other questions of that nature, the answer is always around this great word - motivation. So let me briefly explain;
It took me to get diagnosed with an incurable disease to start being interested in my own health. The prognosis for many people with MS is not good and I myself was convinced I would be in a wheelchair by the time I was 40 - not a great thought for a young guy at 28 years old. After three very difficult years I decided to take the illness on and try and get healthy again. Four years into my plan and I have been able to stop, arrest and reverse what many believe to be an incurable progressive disease. I have described my own health challenge to many people as a blessing in disguise as I believe that the bottom line is it has made me stronger. What it has also done is given me an opportunity to discover the power of nutrition and an exercise regime in attacking all types of illness and keeping people living well and free from illness. The big upside in this for me is that I can use all of this information to help influence others and in particular my own children.
Its now accepted for example that there is a strong link between the consumption of cows milk and the development of MS. There is also evidence to prove that MS is more common in countries that eat more animal meat. Finally for now there is good evidence from clinical studies that diet plays a crucial role in the initiation and progression of MS. Pretty amazing information I would say and for many of you I would guess you are hearing this for the first time. Well its factual and my own belief in 2014 is that people need to be more aware of the implications of what they and their families are eating and how they are living their lives, if they want to avoid potential health challenges down the line.
So for me the motivation to continue along this vein of work is endless. We are only here for a short time, but you will enjoy it much more if you are fit and healthy. Like everything else in life this is not a gimmy, and you have to work hard at your health and wellbeing.
