Series 3 Money & Plants

In April 2020 I started my own podcast, as after listening to and learning from hundreds of other peopleā€™s pods over the last 10 years, I felt I now had the reach, to connect with some really interesting people, which would allow me to produce my own show, and add some value to the community I have been building on line, over the last number of years.

Thankfully 31 episodes and over 12,000 downloads later, I am just about to kick off series 3 in November 2021, in what has been a thoroughly rewarding and enjoyable experience to date.

I mostly talk about financial literacy and health related topics on this show, as I am deeply passionate about both.

FINANCIAL LITERACY I hear you sayā€¦ why so?

Well in my professional career and being an entrepreneur, who manages peopleā€™s investments and mitigates risk on their behalf, I have come to understand money, how it works and the role it plays in society.

Over the last 10 years in my business GDP Partnership, it has become apparent to me that so many people donā€™t grasp any of this. My view is that this is wrong, and the crux of the problem goes back to our schooling system, where we are not teaching our kids about the basics of money, how do we make money, itā€™s role in society, and itā€™s value to people, and their everyday lives.

Again you might sayā€¦ so what šŸ¤”

OK - the reality today is that inequality in society is growing at an alarming rate.

Poorer people generally have poorer health, live in poorer environments, and make poorer choices in life.

If you read Eric Lonerganā€™s fantastic book ā€œ Angrynomicsā€ it sets all of this out, inequality is rife, and as a result, people are now very angry all across the world.

Incidentally Iā€™ve had Eric on the podcast, go check it out - series 1 episode 17 šŸŽ§

I take the view that inequality is steeped in a lack of understanding and education around money and finance.

This is why I talk about some of these issues on money and plants, as I believe It doesnā€™t have to be like this, and we need to create a society that is much fairer than the one we have today.

HEALTH - well my health is my no.1 priority in life. If iā€™m not healthy, then iā€™m no good to anyone, particularly my kids, and at the age they are today, they rely on me for almost everything.

Thatā€™s why I do Ironman competitions, thatā€™s why I write books, blogs, exercise everyday, eat a plant based diet, post on social media, speak in schools and to corporations.

I only started all of this about 10 years ago after I became very ill.

What I always say to people when I speak is ā€œdonā€™t be like me and wait to you become sick to you change your lifestyle, change NOW, change TODAYā€.

In series 3 of my pod, I will have more guests on to speak about health, mindset, resilience and much more.

My first pod goes out next Saturday morning at 6am, and I am delighted to share with you, the first guest of series 3 is my incredible Irish friend, Jack Kavanagh.

I spoke to Jack last week and I couldnā€™t have asked for a better conversation to kick things off.

The crux of the conversation is about how we can all build resilience. Check Jack out - there is nobody in the world today best placed to talk about all of this, than Jack āœŠ

So between now and Christmas, I will be producing 10 half hour shows, which I hope adds some value to you and your life.

Life is busy, life is good, I am very grateful I get the chance to do all of this.

Thank you for your continued support, and letā€™s finish the year STRONG.
